Robert George Fenn Kidson

Robert George Fenn Kidson CBE was a chartered account and a giant of Public School Freemasonry. He was known as Fenn, his mother’s maiden name.

He was a member of the Lodge, a Founder of the Chapter, and long time Secretary of there PSLC. He was a member of the Lodge of Unity No 69, being their bi-centenary Master in 1942.

He joined the Lodge and became Worshipful Master in 1901.

In the Royal Arch he was exalted into the Avondale Chapter No 1549. Having helped found the Sir Thomas White Chapter he was Z in 1946.

He first became involved with the PSLC in 1928 as the representative of the Lodge on the PSLC Council. He became Secretary of the PSLC Council in 1933, a role he held until 1962 when he retired only when forced to do so through ill health.

He was first a PADGC and laster a Grand Warden. He was also a Provincial grand Master in the Mark/RAM.

Kids was born in Lambeth on 5 February 1874. He married Gertrude Florence Price on 9 October 1900 to William Henry Kidson and Charlotte Ann Emily Fenn.

He was made a CBE in 1921 for his war contribution in the shipping industry, helping keep the country supplied during the conflict.

He was also a liveryman of the Company.

He passed away in 1965.
