William Hunter Johnston

William Hunter Johnston was born on 4 August 1856, the son of  John and Margaret Johnston in Hampstead. 

He left Merchant Taylors’ in 1873 and became the London manager of the Barrowfield Iron Works Ltd of Glasgow from 1891.

He was President of the MTS Club. in 1910-11. His other interests included breeding and showing Mastifs. He also became a Cruft’s Judge for the breed.

He was Master of the Lodge in 1890, DC for thirty years from 1899 and Founded the Chapter, but never served as Z.
