Robert Edward Burnege

Robert Edward Burnege was born 8 September 1881, the son of Robert J E Burnege a Provision Merchant and his wife Emma in London.

Leaving Merchant Taylors’ in 1898 he became a Produce Merchant. He joined the HAC and served as CQMS during the War, being  wounded.

He was Master of the Lodge in 1904, a Founder of the Chapter in 1922 and Z in 1926. He was also Secretary of the Lodge for some years. He was also Assistant Hon Sec of the OMTFC from 1908 to 1920.

He was also active in other order, notable the Mark being Provincial Grand Secretary and an Honorary member of Oxford and Cambridge University Lodge No 504, an honour he shared with fellow OMT Mason Fenn Kidson.

He died on 2 June 1960.
